When you pledge to #RISEUP with STAND & USI, you’ll join a community of like-minded students and recent graduates passionate about standing up for global justice.

You’ll receive an info pack with ways to take positive action for change on your campus and will be the first to be informed about STAND & USI’s campaigns throughout the year.

Your pledge will also count as an action towards the 10,000 Students Campaign for your campus. To see how many actions have been taken already on your campus, click here.

A year of living through a global pandemic has taken its toll on our mental health. Levels of anxiety, depression and mental illness among students and young people have risen dramatically over the last 18 months. But young people are breaking the silence.  This year, STAND & USI celebrate those rising up in the face of a mental health crisis who advocate for greater awareness, access to resources, an end to stigma and a more compassionate society for all.

Rising inequalities threaten the wellbeing of both people and the planet. Globally, those who occupy a minority status from across the domains of race, class, gender, ethnicity, disability and sexual orientation are more likely to experience discrimination and prejudice, and face increased barriers preventing them from participating fully in our communities and societies. This year,  STAND & USI celebrate those rising up in the face of inequality and injustice, working for inclusion and the enjoyment of fundamental human rights for all.

RESILIENCE x climate action

From rising sea levels to global warming, overconsumption to the plague of our
waste, we know that change is needed for the protection of both people and planet. Over the last number of years, from across Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas, young people have risen up to make their voices heard and demand real change for us and for future generations.
This year, STAND & USI celebrate the resilience of young people in their fight for climate justice.

RESILIENCE X gender equality

Gender equality is not only a fundamental human right but crucial to building a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world. Despite challenges in the fight for gender equality, which have in many cases been exacerbated by the pandemic, women and girls worldwide have continued to rise up and fight for equal rights, equal pay, and access to sexual and
reproductive health.
This year, STAND & USI celebrate the resilience of women and
girls in building back a better world.
